Monthly Catch Up: August
Hello again! It’s hard to believe that it’s already been an entire month since July’s catch up post! Actually, it’s been less than a month since I posted my July one late, but that’s besides the point…
August has flown by, partially because I had so many visitors to Hawaii. I hope you enjoy the Hawaii posts, and will look forward to some posts about UK travel. I’m going up with my mom soon, so it should be fun! The last time she’s been to London was in the 70’s so a lot has changed, I’m sure.
I’m slowly starting to get in a groove for posting to the blog! I’ve decided that every Tuesday and Friday, I’ll have my travel posts up. As established last month, every Sunday will be a new teaching in Japan blog post.
I’ve also had over 100 visitors! I know that’s not a lot in the grand scheme of things, but for my little blog that I’ve been working really hard at, it means a lot. So, reader, thank you for stopping by and giving me a chance!
I am no longer employed. (Is this an accomplishment?) I was working part time at a clothing boutique trying to earn some extra cash for grad school. But since August’s come to a close, it’s time for me to leave that position.
I got my student visa! The process was expensive (and a total pain). In my July post, I was wondering if I was even going to get it at all… If anyone wants to know the process of getting a Tier 4 UKV student visa, let me know!
I’ve started researching clubs and other activities I can do in order to meet new people and make friends. I’m going to make the most of this year!
I paid off the entire cost of my iPhone so now it’ll be unlocked and ready for a new sim card!
We had the worst neighbors move in. I can barely stay asleep (and usually don’t) because of how much noise they make. Even sleeping with earplugs doesn’t help. It’s cut down on my relaxing (and blogging) time.
I do not have as much money as I thought! While it was good that I paid off my iPhone, I had some visitors this month and was pretty loose with my money. I don’t think I can get the camera I was originally hoping to buy.
I can’t believe that I leave for the UK in only a couple of days! I’m so nervous and excited. I really need to get packing…
